Tulppaanit eivät ole enää kaikkein tuoreimpia,
mutta toin tänään kaupasta krookuksia tilalle.
Vaikka meillä ei olekaan pihaa jossa bongailla
kevään ensimmäisiä versoja,
voi saman nyt suorittaa kukkapurkissa.
Ensimmäiset krookukset ilahduttavat silti,
vaikka olisivatkin kaupasta eivätkä maasta tulleita.

Tulips are not the freshest anymore,
but I brought crocuses from the store today.
Even though we don't have a garden where
to spot the first sprouts of spring,
it's now possible to do the same with a plant pot.
The first crocuses are still a delight,
no matter they came from store, not from the ground.
