Muistiinpanoille // For my Notes

Yläkuvan oikeanpuoleinen, pienenpieni vihko on tehty ompelemalla yhteen muutama taitettava korttipohja. Vihossa on vain muutama pahvinen sivu, ja se on malliltaan hyvin simppeli. Testikappale, jos totta puhutaan. En vain enää muista, mitä sen avulla oli tarkoitus testata.

The teeny tiny notebook on the right hand's side in the photo above is made by sewing some cards together. There is only couple of cardboard pages and it is really simple. Frankly, it was a test notebook. I just can't remember what I was testing with it anymore.

Ylimmässä kuvassa näkyy sekä lähtökohta että lopputulos. Sammakkomuistikirja oli alussa samanlainen kuin sen kanssa kuvattu kettuvihko (molemmat ostettu Tallinnasta tänä kesänä). Mutta koska vihot tuntuivat mielestäni liian isoilta ja ohuilta, piti toista hieman muokata. Irrotin aukeamat, jaoin ne sivuiksi, pistin sivut puoliksi ja kokosin kirjan uudestaan. Rei'itin sivut, ja kiinnitin ne yhteensä ihanalla punavalkoisella nyörillä, jonka sain joululahjaksi ihanalta Sannalta. Se sopi mielestäni hyvin vihon punaisiin marginaaliviivoihin, jotka käänsin tuonne yläreunaan. Niiden yläpuolelle voi vaikka kirjoittaa otsikon tai jotain. Kannet on tehty vihon kansipahveista, nekin on puolitettu ja liimattu kaksinkerroin. Reunat koristelin raidallisella teipillä, että olisivat vähän söpömmät. Etukanteen ompelin vielä napin ja takakanteen kiinnitin pätkän nyöriä, jotta kirjasen saa suljettua. Täytyy sanoa, että tykkään tästä nyt hirmuisesti. Sivujen rosoiset, revityt reunat ovat mielestäni ihanat, ja punavalkoinen nyöri sopii pahvin väriin loistavasti. Vähän tuo sammakko kenottaa vinossa nykyään, mutta ei se mitään. Luulen, että kettuvihko kokee vielä samankaltaisen kohtalon. Sen sisällä on kyllä viivat, joten joudun varmaan tekemään siitä vaakasuuntaisen kirjasen.

In the picture on top you can see both the staring point and the outcome. The notebook with a frog in it was similar to the one with a fox (I bought them both from Tallinn this summer). In my opinion too thin and big, so I modified it a bit. I carefully broke it down, halved every spread to two pages and then halved those pages again. Then I assembled the notebook again by piercing every page and bound it with lovely baker's twine I got from my lovely friend last Christmas. In my opinion the twine goes well with those red margins I turned on top of the page. I'm planning on writing the titles there. The covers are made the same way as the notebook: I halved the old covers and glued pieces together. And added some washi tape to the edges to make it cuter. I also sewed a button to the front cover and added some twine to the back cover for closing the book. I have to say I love this notebook very much now. The torn edges of the paper and red with the cardboard grey. The frog is tilted though, but it doesn't bother me. I think I might do the same with the fox one later on. That book is ruled though, so I might have to make a horizontal one out of it.
