Syksyinen olo // Fall Feelings

Kuten yleensäkin, elokuu hiipi hiljaa paikalle ja hätisti ainakin osan kesää karkuun. Ulkona tuulee pohjoisesta ja ilmassa on jo syksyn tuoksua. Eilen illalla en saanut unta ennen kuin olin työntänyt jääkylmät varpaani villasukkiin ja aamulla palelin bussipysäkillä vaikka päällä oli villapaita ja kaulahuivi. Mutta en valita: jatkuva helle kävi jo hermoille ja on ihanaa nukkua vaihteeksi hyvin ja peiton alla, eikä kieriä hikisenä ja unettomana ympäri sänkyä. Tee maistuu paljon paremmalta viileinä päivinä ja kirjavien lehtien ajattelu saa hymyilemään. Eilen kirjoitin listan syysneuleista, jotka tahtoisin tehdä, ja siitä listasta tuli kuulkaa pitkä. On varmaan aloitettava heti, jos tahdon saada edes neljäsosan tehtyä. Myös syksyn energinen kausi tuntuu olevan alkamassa: ideoita poksahtelee mieleen, suunnitelmat lisääntyvät ja vanhat tylsät jututkin jaksaa tehdä ihan uudella innolla.

Vaikka olenkin jo valmis syksyyn, yritän pysyä kesämielellä vielä hetken. Loppuviikosta on ainakin tulossa vielä muutama kesäpostaus, luulen.

Like usually, August again sneaked here and drove at least part of the summer away. It's blowing from north outside and you can smell the fall already. Yesterday I couldn't sleep before putting my freezing toes into woolen socks and this morning I was cold at the bus stop even though I was wearing a cardigan and a scarf. I'm not complaining though: the heat so got on my nerves and it's lovely to sleep well and under the blanket instead of rolling around the bed and sweating with insomnia. Tea tastes better on chilly days and thinking of colorful leaves makes me smile. Yesterday I wrote a list of things to knit for fall and that list is looong. I guess I have to start now if I want to knit even a fourth of those. I also think the energetic fall spirit is getting here already: new ideas are popping to my head, I'm making lots of plans and even do the old boring chores with new enthusiasm.

Even though I'm ready for fall already, I'll still try to stick around with summer a bit longer. There is going to be some summer posts in the end of the week, I think.
